Transportation keeps our country moving, but what makes transportation go? People. Heroes. And each one has a story to tell.

Heroes of Valor

This category recognizes transportation workers who have placed their life at risk — either willingly or unknowingly — to help others while on the job. Nominees must work or have worked in the United States’ transportation industry.

Heroes of Valor may be inducted twice a year. There is no limit to the number of individuals who can be inducted each year.

The Heroes Center Selection Committee will contact you once your nomination has been reviewed.
Award Rules
  1. Nominations are accepted year round.
  2. Heroes by Example and Heroes of Valor may be inducted twice a year, while Heroes of Industry and Technology may be inducted once every year. There is no limit to the number of individuals who can be inducted each year.
  3. The Heroes Center Selection Committee is under no obligation to induct Heroes if no qualified individuals are nominated that year.
  4. Nominations can only be made on an official Heroes Center nomination form or online.
  5. Forms are to be filled out completely or the nominee will not be considered.
  6. Nominations will be considered for both living and deceased individuals, provided they have worked in the United States’ transportation industry.
  7. All nominations for Heroes of Industry and Technology must be submitted by January 1 to be considered for that year’s induction.
  8. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
  9. The decisions reached by the Heroes Center Selection Committee shall be final.
