Award Rules
  1. Nominations are accepted year round.
  2. Heroes by Example and Heroes of Valor may be inducted twice a year, while Heroes of Industry and Technology may be inducted once every year. There is no limit to the number of individuals who can be inducted each year.
  3. The Heroes Center Selection Committee is under no obligation to induct Heroes if no qualified individuals are nominated that year.
  4. Nominations can only be made on an official Heroes Center nomination form or online.
  5. Forms are to be filled out completely or the nominee will not be considered.
  6. Nominations will be considered for both living and deceased individuals, provided they have worked in the United States' transportation industry.
  7. All nominations for Heroes of Industry and Technology must be submitted by January 1 to be considered for that year's induction.
  8. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
  9. The decisions reached by the Heroes Center Selection Committee shall be final.

Make sure that your transportation hero is recognized. Complete a nomination form in one of the three categories below that best represents your Hero's accomplishments. The Heroes Center Selection Committee will contact you once your nomination has been reviewed. There is no limit to the number of individuals who can be inducted into the Heroes Center each year.

Hero of Industry
and Technology:
Individuals, past and present, who have made significant breakthroughs or contributions in transportation - related industries or technologies.

Hero of Valor:
Transportation workers, past and present, who have placed their life at risk - either willingly or unknowingly - while on the job, or citizens who have contributed selfless acts within the field of transportation.
